Burr Oaks is tucked into a hillside overlooking a secluded valley with twenty-two acres of serene, pastoral beauty. Walk down the terraced steps to the meadow where there are chairs and tables for you to be at ease to read, write letters… Or, grab a book and a snack and retreat to the swing at the edge of the woods. Loosen up as you appreciate the sights and sounds of nature at its finest. Explore the hills, rambling along the paths where you will find benches placed for your rest and reflection.
The bridge below was built in 1938 (plaque on other side) by the WPA (Work Projects Administration). The bridge is eligible for the National Register, "Iron and Steel Bridges in Minnesota, 1873-1945
